 President and Executive Director John Corlett's Letter to Governor Kasich regarding Ohio Legislature Medicaid Freeze

The budget process in the legislature has concluded and now the bill heads to the Governor's desk. Included in the bill was a provision that would freeze the enrollment in Medicaid expansion, potentially leading to the disenrollment of 500 thousand Ohioans. The Center for Community Solutions opposes this policy and President and Executive Director John R. Corlett has written a letter to Governor Kasich asking him to line-item veto the freeze. The Effects of the American Health Care Act on County Economies in Ohio

The Center for Community Solutions has conducted analysis on the potential fiscal impacts of the American Health Care Act (AHCA) in Ohio, with our model showing between a $16 and $22 billion shortfall in Medicaid funding. To build on this work, we decided to take a look at what this gap could mean for counties, and incorporated information on health care employment to provide an additional perspective on what this impact could mean.
