Project Updates - Public Policy and Advocacy - State Budgeting Matters

Richard G. Sheridan

Richard G. Sheridan has more than 30 years of experience with public budgeting. He was the founding director of the Ohio Legislative Budget Office and wrote State Budgeting in Ohio, published in 1973. It was the first book in the nation to focus exclusively on one state's budgeting process. A second edition was produced in 1978 and then, in 2001 the The Center for Community Solutions published his latest book, Follow the Money. He taught public budgeting to graduate students at Ohio University and Cleveland State University and is known throughout the state for his written budget analyses, a regular feature in The Center for Community Solutions’ Planning & Action. Sheridan is also one of three co-authors of The Center for Community Solutions’ recent analyses of state and local taxation, Taxing Issues [link to 2.1.1.3].
