Andrew Snyder was recently honored with the Presidential Award from Full Spectrum in recognition of his leadership and dedication to advancing equity for the Greater Mahoning Valley LGBTQ+ community. The award acknowledges Andrew’s pivotal role in leading the Greater Mahoning Valley LGBTQ+ Community Needs Assessment, a comprehensive effort designed to better understand the lived experiences, challenges, and priorities of LGBTQ+ individuals across the region.
Full Spectrum recognized Andrew not only for the technical rigor of the project, but also for his commitment to centering community trust, inclusion, and collaboration throughout the process, which helped ensure that the assessment reflected voices often left out of traditional planning processes.
The Greater Mahoning Valley LGBTQ+ Community Needs Assessment report will be released later this spring. In the meantime, the assessment process has already become a tool for local service providers, advocates, and policymakers, offering clear insights to guide future programming, funding decisions, and advocacy efforts. The Presidential Award highlights the lasting impact of Andrew’s work and underscores the importance of research that translates directly into meaningful action for the LGBTQ+ community in the Mahoning Valley.
