Lead Safe Cleveland Summit

The free event is organized by United Way of Greater Cleveland in collaboration with a group of volunteer community members representing multiple sectors and the Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition. Community Solutions’ Loren Anthes, a Public Policy Fellow at the Medicaid Policy Center and Emily Muttillo, an Applied Research Fellow, will present at the summit. Organized by United Way of Greater Cleveland and members of the Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition, conference topics will include things like the scope and scale of lead poisoning in our community and the impact of lead poisoning on children.   • The scope and scale of lead poisoning in our community
  • The costs of lead poisoning on our economy, workforce, and human services systems
  • What preventive measures look like and resources to implement them
  • Interventions once a child has tested positive for lead poisoning
  • Rights and responsibilities of key groups including caregivers, landlords, and homeowners
  • Examples of what other cities have done; what Cleveland has already done
  • The impact of lead poisoning on children
