Nominations for two of our community awards, the High 5 Award, which recognizes the invaluable contribution of volunteers and new to the field employees working or serving in Cuyahoga County health and social service organizations, and the $25,000 Anisfield-Wolf Memorial Award for outstanding service by a community organization, are open! About the Awards
The Anisfield-Wolf Memorial Award, 1964-Present
Named after Edith Anisfield Wolf, poet, philanthropist, and civic leader, The Center for Community Solutions, then known as the Welfare Federation, was named in her will as the administrator of the Anisfield-Wolf Memorial Award for outstanding service by a community organization. Each year, the award is presented at the Celebration of Human Services (formerly the Human Services Institute) with a check for $25,000 being presented to the winner by a representative of The Cleveland Foundation.
The High 5 Awards, 2024-Present
Established in 2024, the High 5 Awards, which evolved from the historic Most Treasured Volunteer Awards (MTV), goal is to recognize the invaluable contribution of volunteers and new to the field employees working or serving in Cuyahoga County health and social service organizations. The awards serve three key purposes: (1) Recognize local individuals for their unselfish dedication to others. (2) Showcase the importance of volunteerism and recognizing new to the field employees who provide services beyond those that organizations might not have the human or financial resources to provide. (3) Raise awareness and recognition of critical human issues and the community organizations that are working to resolve them. Each year, five winners are selected and presented with a plaque and monetary gift at the Celebration of Human Services.
