Health Impact Ohio (HIO), a statewide nonprofit health improvement collaborative, announce the election of Tara Britton as Chairperson of its Board of Directors on March 19.
Health Impact Ohio manages and supports community-based care coordination programs, including serving as the managing organization for the Central Ohio Pathways HUB, where it provides oversight, operational support, and performance monitoring to ensure effective and accountable service delivery. HIO also supports workforce education and training, health system quality improvement efforts, and data integration to connect community based and clinical organizations and serve Ohioans with community-anchored supports.
Her leadership spans research, analysis, and advocacy across priority issue areas, including health, poverty reduction, and maternal health.
As Director of Public Policy and Advocacy and Lynde Fellow at The Center for Community Solutions, Tara oversees policy staff in both Columbus and Cleveland. Her leadership spans research, analysis, and advocacy across priority issue areas, including health, poverty reduction, and maternal health. She has led organizational efforts through multiple state biennial budget cycles, engaging policymakers at local, state, and federal levels.
Tara has served on the Health Impact Ohio board for nearly a decade prior to assuming the Chairperson role; for the last several years, she has served as HIO’s Treasurer and continues her service on the Board of Advocates for Ohio’s Future. Her new role as Board Chairperson comes at a pivotal time for HIO, as the organization expands initiatives to advance social determinants of health, community health worker education, training, and policy efforts, and continued access to quality health services across Central Ohio and the state.
