Gerda K. Freedheim had a long and distinguished career which included more than 20 years at the Federation for Community Planning (now The Center for Community Solutions). She was dedicated to human services planning and coordination, playing lead roles in the areas of protecting children, women, older adults, and people with developmental disabilities.
She continued the philanthropic spirit of the Freedheim family, which included her late husband, Donald, and his parents, after whom the annual Eugene H. and Mina K. Freedheim Lecture is named.
Her family suggested that, instead of flowers, do an act of kindness.
Gerda passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025. Gerda’s full obituary, along with details on her celebration of life to be held in Cleveland in November can be found at Dignity Memorial.
