Major changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP went into effect on November 1, 2025, in the midst of the government shutdown. As the fog of the shutdown clears, these changes are only beginning to be fully felt and understood. While more changes to SNAP are coming, both expanded work requirements and the elimination of SNAP for certain immigrant populations were effective at the beginning of November and it's important to understand if you or the people who live in our communities are being impacted.
