Join us as we welcome this year’s Eugene H. Freedheim Lecture, Pulitzer Prize winner Andrea Elliott as she reads from, “Invisible Child: Poverty, Survival & Hope in an American City,” a story following Dasani, a child in New York City, and her family who move from shelter to shelter, battling persistent poverty and hunger, and in search of stability and a way forward.

This event is held in collaboration with the One Community Reads,  a collaborative effort of the City Club of Cleveland, Playhouse Square, and Cuyahoga County’s nine public library systems to create a shared reading experience for the Greater Cleveland community.

The Eugene H. Freedheim Lecture is sponsored by Community Solutions in memory of Eugene Freedheim. Freedheim was a prominent Cleveland attorney who, together with his wife Mina, was active in a number of Cleveland charitable organizations. He saw The Center for Community Solutions as having a key role as a planner and community convener. This lecture fund was established by his family and friends to extend his humanitarian influence into the future.
